Why Did You Want to Be a Dentist?
Dr. Boyles’ fascination with dentistry started at a young age. Whenever his mother brought him to the dentist for a checkup, he would always ask about the different instruments and wanted to know what each one was for. From this humble start, his desire to become a dentist grew and grew, and 46 years later, he’s thrilled that he still gets to live his dream every day.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Franklin Boyles earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Baylor College of Dentistry. He still pursues continuing education every year to keep his skills sharp, and he also works as a preceptor faculty member at his alma mater to regularly share his dental expertise and knowledge with students. Dr. Boyles has been voted as one of the Permian Basin’s best dentists for multiple years, including 2003, 2005, 2008, 2009, and 2011. He is also a longstanding member of several prestigious organizations, including the following:
- Academy of General Dentistry (Mastership)
- American Dental Association (Membership)
- Texas Dental Association (Lifetime Membership)
- Texas Academy of General Dentistry (Membership)
- West Texas Academy of General Dentistry (Membership & Past President)
In recognition of his continued efforts to provide life-changing care, Dr. Boyles was recently given the Texas A&M College of Dentistry Alumni of the Year Award in Dallas!
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Boyles is very proud to be a fourth-generation Texan, and he is originally from the Denton area. He and his beloved wife Frances are the proud parents of one grown son, Dr. Stephen Boyles, who practices here at Boyles General Dentistry & Implant Center. Whenever Dr. Boyles isn’t busy serving patients, he enjoys going country western dancing with his wife, traveling, walking/exercising, and attending events at the shooting range.
