Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Dr. Boyles’ grew up in the dental office and had the opportunity to see how much he could impact his patients’ lives through the profession. He always enjoyed the fusion of art, science, and technology that the dental field had to offer, which made it an easy choice for him to decide to go to dental school!
Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Boyles attended Angelo State University and Texas A&M Baylor College of Dentistry. Over the years, he has expanded on his skillsets and education by becoming a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, and he even went on to achieve his Mastership, which is a rare accomplishment that few dentists hold. This process involved Dr. Boyles taking countless hours of continuing education and passing extensive examinations and peer reviews, proving his knowledge and skills. Dr. Boyles was also one of only seven dentists nominated to receive the Texas Dentist of the Year award.

What Does It Mean to Be an AGD Master?

Dr. Boyles earned both Fellowship and Mastership status with the AGD, or Academy of General Dentistry. In order to earn this distinction, he completed over 1,100 hours of approved continuing education courses in specific disciplines. He also completed a rigorous exam designed to demonstrate his expertise across different specialties that included about 250 multiple-choice questions on techniques, knowledge, and procedures.
Upon completing these extensive requirements, Dr. Boyles joined a very small group of general dentists (less than two percent) in the United States and Canada who are also AGD Masters.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?

Dr. Boyles is a proud husband to his wife, Michelle, and father to his son, Bruce. He loves to read and tries to get through one a week. Currently, he has read 50 non-fiction books, and he’s on track to make his goal for this year! Whenever he isn’t at the office, you can find him gardening, landscaping, exercising, and traveling.
